Orionids Meteor Shower

This shower runs annually from October 2 to November 7. It peaks this year on the night of October 21 and the morning of October 22. The Orionids are meteors left behind in the wake of Halley’s Comet. This year, their visibility will be all but impossible as they compete with the light of full moon. Sigh. But these meteors, numbering up to 10 per hour, tend to be among the brightest of the year, so there’s a *chance* you’ll see one if you’re patient.. Look toward the constellation Orion for the best chance of spotting these celestial visitors.
